Bob retired after a career as a Senior Executive with British Petroleum. He and his wife, Carolyn, live in Snowmass Village and spend off-seasons in South Carolina. Their daughter lives in Carbondale and their son lives in Snowmass Village.
He served as an appointed member of the Snowmass Village Town Council from 2000 to 2002 and on the Town's Planning Commission from 1998 until 2000. He was re-appointed to the Planning Commission and currently serves as Chair. Bob played a key role in the Town's holding a Village Leadership Forum and subsequently approving a Village Aspiration Statement and Forward Plan. He is currently a member of the Town's Marketing and Special Events Board where he served as Chair in the past.
Bob serves on various community Boards, advisory committees and volunteer projects. Recent work has involved Strategic Planning and Facilitation with various non-profit organizations throughout the Valley.
He is a Trustee at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies where he served as President in 2008-9 and is a member of the Board of Directors, Aspen Public Radio.
In 2002, his Town Council colleagues passed a formal resolution which recognized Bob's "listening skills, his ability to sort through complex issues, his gift for holding in-depth and respectful conversations, and his wry sense of humor."
