Zoning for a controversial development project in Carbondale was soundly defeated last night. Opponents voted down the project by a nearly 2-to-1 margin.

In these tough economic times, poor children often get left behind. But here in Colorado, a strong state campaign to keep them healthy is proving to be a major success.
Pitkin County has a high number of uninsured children compared to other Colorado counties. Colorado Public News reports 42-percent of Pitkin County kids are eligible for government insurance, but aren’t signed up.
A measure that would give illegal immigrants who graduate from Colorado high schools lower tuition rates has cleared its first hurdle at the State capitol.
